Now this is what we’ve been waiting for – Donovan playing like Donovan can, in spite of the sacks and the drops. In the first half of today’s game, Number 5 completed 68% of his passes. His touchdown-to-interception ratio was 1 to 0. Were it not for several drops, he’d have completed 75% of his passes. He brought his ‘A Game’ today, for sure. That’s good, because you know the Vikings offense is frustrated. Favre is going to come out firing.
I expect to see the ball in the air a lot in the second half. I could be wrong, but that’s what my crystal ball tells me. Normally, that would be due to one team pulling away from the other. But, I don’t think either team will pull away. I figure both teams will stack the box on defense and have success in the air on offense. They, they’ll continue to do what works. (I know, duh!) Because I believe both teams will air it out, I’m still as scared as I was at the start of the game. The Redskins are going to need to pick Favre off a couple times this half. No turnovers so far.
Let’s hope the Redskins’ defense comes up big and doesn’t let the Vikings take over this game. At the worst, Washington can’t let Minnesota get up two scores. It’s going to take 17 points this half for the Redskins to win this game. That’s it for my crystal ball for now. Time to watch the second half.
