Who Will Show Up When the Vikings Come to Washington Sunday?

The Minnesota Vikings come to town this Sunday and have been downright awful these past few weeks.  Then they fired their head coach, and now come to Washington with a fresh face, so which team is going to show up?  Is it the 3-7 Vikings that have lost their last two games to division rivals by a combined score of 58 – 16, with the quarterback who has two broken bones and has thrown a league leading 17 interceptions this year?  Is it the team that is jawing on the sidelines (If you can read lips a little bit, this conversation is not going well at all)?  Or is it the team that is loaded with talent all over the field, went 13-3 last year, and was one bad play away from going to the super bowl.

Sound kind of familiar (except the almost super bowl bound part)?  When the cowboys fired Wade Phillips they weren’t doing too well themselves, but in their first game back they come out and obliterate a Giants team that many people around the NFL were touting as the NFC’s best in the Meadowlands.  The switch to an interim coach after firing a coach that the team hates playing for can bring out the best in a team, so will it happen against us on Sunday?

It don’t see it shaking out that way…After seeing how we pulled through  and showed heart last Sunday against the Titans, banged up and all, and seeing how little heart the Vikings showed against one of their biggest rivals in the Packers, I can’t see them pulling off a cowboy-like rebound in FedEx.  Their secondary is beat up, Brett Favre has thrown 17 interceptions, that’s not all Brad Childress’ fault, and they shouldn’t be able to fix as many holes as they have created in the past few weeks overnight.   If we can somewhat contain Peterson, continue to force turnovers from Favre, and if our new look o-line stays healthy and plays like it did last week we should be able to walk away with a much needed W.  This is the week, where we finally show up against a team and kick it while it’s down, beat a team with a losing record that we should beat, and do it by more than a touchdown so we can all breathe easy over Thanksgiving weekend.   Go Skins!

I really like the Skins chances this week…

It is true that a head coaching change can give a team a boost (although it often temporary) but the Vikings are not the Cowboys..

Favre looks done out there… He is a stationary qb who does not think twice about making dumb/next to impossible passes. I actually think the Skins will be able to get to Favre and force a couple turnovers as well as get a couple sacks on him.

As for the Skins on offense well if they use the line they played with for most of the game vs the Titans I think they just might be alright.

Let’s just hope the line can stay healthy, I don’t know how I feel about the interior going up against the Big Williams’ with a Cook, Capers, Lichtensteiger look…I’m shuttering just thinking about it.
