Titans coach Jeff Fisher demotes Vince Young

The Titans were looking to gain ground in the AFC South, but instead after a tough loss where the defense literally gave the game to the Redskins.  Vince Young blew up and Jeff Fisher has removed him from the starting job.

This according to USA Today:

Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher said after Sunday’s loss to the Washington Redskins that he was stripping QB Vince Young — who suffered a thumb injury that forced him from the game — of his starting role.

Young left LP Field shortly after the 19-16 overtime loss. He was replaced by third-stringer Rusty Smith during the game, but Fisher said even if he were healthy he would not return atop the Titans’ depth chart.

The Tennessean reported that as Young left the field, he threw his shoulder pads into the stands. Fisher expressed displeasure with his QB after the game.
