It was a very brisk morning in Fort Washington, MD where thousands of NFL fans sporting jerseys from over half of the league showed up to raise money for the NFL’s “Play 60″ initiative with the American Heart Association.
This is my report of the days events through images and quotes. Enjoy.
Now if any of you all have a twitter account and follow @redskinsblog, then you know that they were giving away tickets to the Monday Night Football game between the Eagles and Redskins in conjunction with the Virginia Lottery.
If you follow me (@Only1K2) or my official account with Riggo’s Rag (@K2_RiggosRag) then you know that I was one of those lucky few to win tickets to Monday Nights game. Not bad for my first time covering a Redskins event.
Shortly after I won my tickets, the Redskins Marching Band made their way through the event.
After the band entered, a few people spoke including Tanya Snyder and Christy Cooley.
Shortly after introductions were made, Doc Walker took the stage and started with this comment:
It’s great to see not only Redskin nation here, but we might have a moment of silence, for the Dallas Cowboy fans. I support all the people around here, especially you football fans. You’re supporting a great cause. Giants fans, I see you. You guys only come out when you’re good and that’s good because now you’re good, you good. Thats okay, and Eagles fans you are always there, and we got somethin’ for you on Monday night.
After Doc’s inspiring words, the runners and walkers then took their tour around National Harbor.
The event was a successful one with money being raised for a good cause and from what I saw everybody had fun, including myself. I did win tickets to the game on Monday Night so I encourage all of you to check out Riggo’s Rag Live (on the toolbar above) Monday Night at 8pm. We will have three people reporting information live from FedEx, including myself. This is something a diehard should definitely be a part of and I would recommend checking it out.
If you can’t get to your PC (of Mac), you can follow Riggo’s Rag (http://twitter.com/riggosrag) or myself (http://twitter.com/K2_RiggosRag) on twitter and receive pre-game, in-game and post-game reports of what’s going on at FedEx field.
See you guys Monday Night!
