Redskins Week 7 Odds and Ends

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Chris Cooley’s concussion is serious enough to drive him to see a Concussion Specialist.  Furthermore, according to the Washington Post, Cooley has a history of concussions.  He suffered three of them in college.  What I find a bit ironic is that Cooley suffered his first pro-level concussion while wearing a helmet which is one of seven models being tested by the NFL to determine which helmet offers the most protection.  He volunteered to take part in the test.  Anyone wanna bet Cooley returns to the classic helmet style when he returns to action? The Redskins will miss Chris Cooley – no doubt about that.  [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Albert Haynesworth is no Brett Favre.  He can’t just shake off the loss of a close family member, in this case his brother, and play football.  He’s an emotional man.  He’s understandably having a tough time getting his head into football.  If you’ve ever heard Mr. Haynesworth during an interview when he actually wanted to be interviewed, you know he can be rather eloquent.  And that, along with his raw football ability and power, is what we know about him.  Don’t ever think this man is shallow.  He may sound it at times, but he’s thoughtful and purposeful.  The Redskins are purposeful [...]

Week 6 – Pretenders and Contenders Are Starting To Separate

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

You know what this week is, don’t ya?  It’s Week 6 for most NFL teams and Week 5 for a few.  Duh.  Seriously though, the pretenders are starting to play like they have weights wrapped around their ankles, and the contenders are playing like they have a real sense of purpose.  As the 4:00pm games start, there are five 4 and 2 teams in the NFC – the Giants, Eagles, Saints, Falcons, and Bears.  Atlanta and Chicago lost today to get to 4 – 2; the others won to get there.  Nonetheless, they’re all division leaders.  If Washington wins tonight, the Skins [...]
