The one they let get away

Russell Okung was widely considered to be the obvious choice at number four for the Redskins in last spring’s draft. Instead, they took Trent Williams for the left tackle position. Some second guessed it, but after a slew of injury issues by Okung it seems like the Skins made the right choice.

Okung injured his left ankle on Sunday in his third NFL start.  Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said it wasn’t as severe as the right ankle injury as he had in August, but it’s the same “type of injury.”  Okung had a high ankle sprain in August and missed more than a month of action, including three regular season games.

Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times doesn’t expect to see Okung back in action for “at least a few weeks.”

Many have already been impressed with Williams.  After having faced a headlineing line-up of:Demarcus Ware, DeMario Williams, Trent Cole, Clay Matthews, Robert Mathis, Dwight Freeny, and Julius Peppers it is safe to say Williams has done rather nicely.
