Backfield in motion, Trent Williams returns

Mike Shanahan said today that Clinton Portis will be out four to six weeks due to groin separation.  This confirms Portis’s comments made yesterday when he said he was doubtful for this Sunday’s contest.  This thrusts Ryan Torain into the starting role for Sunday versus the Packers and moving forward.  To add depth in the back field, the Redskins signed Javarris James to the practice squad.  Look for Keiland Williams to be elevated once again to the active roster to join Torain and Chad Simpson.

Trent Williams saw his first taste of full practice since being injured versus the Texans.  He felt no setbacks and said he feels “ten times better” than he did last week.
