Skins at the Jets, Halftime

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - AUGUST 16: Kellen Clemens #11 of the New York Jets is sacked by Chris Horton #48 and Antwaan Randle El #82 of the Washington Redskins in a pre-season NFL game at Giants Stadium, August 16, 2008 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. (Photo by Jeff Zelevansky/Getty Images)

The Redskins knew they had a tough opponent in the New York Jets and they got it.  Once again the Redskins are having issues getting their ground game going, but once again have opted to pass more passing the ball four times more than that ran it.

Willie Parker has had little room to run once again, but is churning his legs for second efforts.  He leads the team with 16 rushing yards, in eight carries.  Clinton Portis has 3 yards on one carry, but has been brought in mainly for pass protection.  To this point Larry Johnson still has not had an appearance in the backfield.  I wonder if we will see him in the second half like we were told.

Santana Moss is having a decent game with two catches for 42-yards.  He did drop a a deep pass from Rex Grossman that would have put the Skins in the red zone.  Joey Galloway hauled in his first three catches of the preseason for 29 yards.

On defense we are seeing an aggresive front.  Albert Hayneworth has been playing more with the first unit, teaming up with Ma’ake Kemoeatu and Adam Carriker.  He has been disruptive up front and giving the linebackers opportunities.  The Redskins also capitalized on two turnovers, an interception by DeAngelo Hall, his second of the preseason, and a fumble recovery by Perry Reily.

Other than than a saftey, given by Grossman to avoid the touchdown, the Redskins are playing much better ball.
