Mike Shanahan works the mic

Mike Shanahan opened the presser by saying he knew what the first question people would be asking him. A no-brainer it was about Haynesworth.

The responses Shanahan had for the questions he fielded were direct and concise. This was the first training camp I covered live but those who attend camp regularly said this was clearly a change from last year’s experience with Jim Zorn.

Shanahan never allowed the press to control the pressed. He gave his answers and moved on when he felt like moving on.

I asked a question about how he felt wide receiver Malcolm Kelly did. He said straight up that he had not seen him work exclusively, but hinted that this was a big camp for him.
