Live at camp 7/31/2010
Practice has started. Once again no Haynesworth. I hear he decided to skip out on today’s practice. More on this later.
Albert Haynesworth not on the field again

Mike Shanahan works the mic
Mike Shanahan opened the presser by saying he knew what the first question people would be asking him. A no-brainer it was about Haynesworth. The responses Shanahan had for the questions he fielded were direct and concise. This was the first training camp I covered live but those who attend camp regularly said this was clearly a change from last year’s experience with Jim Zorn. Shanahan never allowed the press to control the pressed. He gave his answers and moved on when he felt like moving on. I asked a question about how he felt wide receiver Malcolm Kelly did. [...]
For the fans the season has begun
Ashburn,VA – Fans flocked to Ashburn for the start of another training camp on last Thursday of August. Though expectations may be moderate, hope is particularly high among fans. “I think since they added onto the offensive line our chances are better than last year,” says Lorenzo Hill, a graduate student at the Virginia University of Lynchburg. He feels having McNabb here helps and that he will perform well as of he has something to prove. The crowd today braved a fierce lightning storm and were happy to do so. When the team took the field a loud roar circumvented [...]

However he did emerge about two minutes towards the close of practice. He did some work on the side with trainers. Earlier today the reports were that Haynesworth failed the physical. The physical’s details were not disclosed by Shanahan but they were mainly cardio based. Some feel that the test was designed for him to fail. DeAngelo Hall expressed those feelings. However Shanahan said that this is the [...]
Malcolm Kelly will miss first practice
Third year wide receiver Malcolm Kelly will miss the first day of practice at training camp due to a tweak in his hamstring he suffered at Donovan McNabb’s “hell week”.
Training camp eve
A few notes heading into camp. Various reports confirmed Albert Haynesworth was at the Redskins facility today. Haynesworth reportedly met with head coach Mike Shanahan. Two notes worth mentioning: Haynesworth looked significantly “slimmer”. It remains to be seen if he is shape. He will still required to take a physical. That will determine if he is fit to play. The second item is he will not practice with the the first team heading into camp. That was stated and confirmed by Shanahan. Carlos Rogers will signed his tender ($1.54 mil)and will be expected to be at practice tomorrow. Defensive coordinator, [...]
