You would think a person with at least $30 million in his bank account is sound at paying bills. Regardless of his current fiasco with Redskins, his personal affairs need a work out too.
Clayton Bank & Trust has sued Albert Haynesworth, alleging that the Washington Redskins star has failed to make payments on a $2.38 million loan. The suit was filed last week in Knox County Chancery Court, and alleges that the bank made the commercial loan in June of 2009. The suit alleges that the parties subsequently entered into an extension agreement, but that Haynesworth failed to make payments due in accordance with that agreement.
The suit seeks a judgment of more than $2.4 million, including unpaid interest and late charges.
Haynesworth is a former University of Tennessee star who signed a $100 million contract with the Redskins, which has already paid out at least $32 million. However, he has been unhappy with the team’s defensive scheme and the Washington Post reported last week that he would skip minicamp.
Haynesworth could not be reached for comment.
Normally this is non-news, but considering he just got paid $21 million last April, but I thought his apologists would appreciate this tibbit.
