The Redskins have announced the signing of Dennis Morris, Selvish Capers and Erik Cook. The signing comes at the end of the OTAs, with mini camp looming. Just this week, Mike Shanahan announced he would be would shortening mini camp from three days to just two. This camp will be the last team activity until training camp in late July.
Washington selected Morris, a fullback-tight end, in the sixth round (174th overall) of the three-day April draft. Last season, the former Louisiana Tech standout, listed at 6’2″, 265 pounds, had 38 receptions for 623 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Offensive linemen Cook (6-6, 318) and Capers (6-5, 308) were seventh-round selections. With the 229th pick, Washington chose Cook from New Mexico. Two picks later, the team added Capers, who had a productive career at West Virginia.
