Terrell Owens was once the most coveted wide receiver in the league. In 2010, he has yet to sign on with a team. Vincent Jackson may be soon departing from the Charger, and PFT suggests they consider Terrell Owens.
Per a league source, there’s currently no communication between San Diego and the Owens’ camp.
Of course, that could change. And it should change if the Chargers are serious about moving on without Jackson.
We’ve been critical of Owens when he has deserved it. But we also will praise him when justified, too. Regardless of whether he was motivated by a desire to not give the media more ammo for criticizing him, T.O. behaved in 2009 with the Bills. And given that he’s sensitive to the perception that he’s a pain in the butt, which could eventually slow down his bid for Cantonization, he likely will behave in 2010.
So if the Chargers are serious about replacing Jackson, they should be chasing Owens.
Unless, of course, it’s all bluster and bravado from Smith, who never smiles. Apparently because it’s a submission signal in primates.
