Gibbs Has Some Advice For Shanahan

Joe Gibbs and Mike Shanahan have made their mark on the NFL in their own way. So, when asked about what he would advise to the new coach of the Redskins, he made is simple and not “x’s and o’s” related.

“I said to him, I said this is, I think, the greatest sports franchise in the world,” Gibbs recalled. “That’s me, personally. It’s right there in Washington. It’s the only thing that unifies the city. Everything else, it’s Republican and Democrat. The city’s split. That team, something is written every day about that team. It’s a big deal in Washington. I’ve got to tell you, if I’m going to coach someplace or play football someplace, I want to be in a place where football’s important, and it is in Washington.”

Certainly winning is the key ingredient and something this team hasn’t done with regularity in some time.  That would certainly turn things around and make this team once again THE feel good talk of the town.
