Sharper Looks At Teams, Could Skins Be One?

Per PFT.com:

Last night, we reported that two teams are interested in free-agent safety Darren Sharper, beyond the team with which he played in 2009.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the two teams are the Jaguars and the Cowboys.

Per Schefter, Sharper will visit the Jaguars today.  If he doesn’t do a deal with Jacksonville, Dallas could be the next destination.

Neither team added a safety via the draft.  With the Cowboys hoping to overcome the Saints and play in the Super Bowl that will be hosted in their home stadium next February, Sharper would bring both ability and an intimate knowledge of the New Orleans offense and defense.

Is it possible the Redskins make a run at Sharper. He has been slated to have DC as one of the cities he would be visiting (not confirmed)as he makes his rounds. The New Orleans Saints would love to have him, but the money apparently needs to be right.

Would he be a good fit here? We know that Shanahan likes his veterans, but part of the reason he has not signed with the Saints yet is because they do not want to pay top dollar for a player on his last go round. Sharper brought a lot to the table last year, and will certainly be capable of doing so next season.  However, what about the year after that or the following year? Will he be willing to play for less and win?  He certainly has that shot in New Orleans. Should he join the Skins, he will add leadership to that defensive backfield, but I do not think Bruce Allen will be willing to pay him. My guess is he give good consideration to both the Jaguars and the Cowboys. I wouldn’t be surprised should he land in Valley Ranch.
