A Closer Look At Trent Williams

2010 NFL Combine - Day One

I have been on the Okung bandwagon since I did my initial 2010 draft research.  But rarely have I discussed what if he has already been taken, or if there is a better choice at offensive tackle.  With that saidwhat about Trent Williams?

Mayock believes that Williams is a better fit for the zone-blocking scheme that the Redskins are implementing, given that it requires more agility and quickness.  Still, with a 33-year-old quarterback who has had nearly as many operations as Cavity Sam, pass blocking will be even more important.  Russ Lande of Sporting News thinks Williams will be gone at No. 2, to the Lions; Nolan Nawrocki of Pro Football Weekly has concerns regarding Williams’ work ethic and bust potential.

No doubt that this guy should be as good as Okung.  But he appears to posses the tool necessary to be a solid offensive lineman.  As a front office guy, you would be a fool to not at least give a good look see.
