Lance Briggs, linebacker for the Chicago Bears, feels confident in what the Chicago Bears have done in the offseason. He thinks that the pieces to the puzzle are there, however they needs one more position to be addressed. According to the Chicago Sun Times, Briggs said:
“I am excited with what we have right now. But I still think we need a safety, a veteran safety, to help our defense,” Briggs said. “But, to me, I’m excited to work hard and prove ourselves.”
Remember, the Bears landed Julius Peppers in the offseason, and with that move greatly improved on their defensive stature for the 2010 season already. What safety could be coming into town? Darren Sharper of the New Orleans Saints is still available. What about a trade with the Redskins for Laron Landry for picks? Should the Bears land a safety, it still remains to be seen if they can still leap frog the Vikings and Packers. It is still a tough division, and one player may not make that huge of a difference.
