Reid:"We have a lot of confidence in Kevin Kolb"

In the shadow of the McNabb trade, Andy Reid spoke out on the trade and what the future for the Eagles was.  After thanking McNabb and praising his service, he began to talk about the future with Kevin Kolb:

Speaking at a hastily arranged press conference, Eagles coach Andy Reid made clear that today’s trade of Donovan McNabb makes Kevin Kolb the starter in Philadelphia.

“Obviously, we have a lot of confidence in Kevin Kolb to make this decision, and he will be the starting quarterback,” Reid said.

Presumably Michael Vick will be the Eagles’ No. 2 quarterback, but other than mentioning that the Eagles listened to offers for “all three quarterbacks,” Reid didn’t even seem to want to broach the subject of Vick: Reid sees this trade as the passing of a torch from McNabb to Kolb.
