A day after landing in DC, Larry Johnson is the new back up to Clinton Portis. This was just announced today slightly after 5PM.
The Redskins today announced the signing of running back Larry Johnson. Johnson had several stellar seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, including back-to-back 1,700 yard years in 2005 and 2006.
As a back-up running back, Johnson will be making a relatively humble salary with the Redskins, Yahoo.com reports:
The contract’s base value is $3.5 million, but Johnson could make as much as $12 million if he meets certain incentives.
Things are slowing taking shape as voluntary workouts are set to begin Monday.
