More From Romanowski

When Mike Shanahan was hired by the Washington Redskins in early January 2010, Bill Romanowski was quick to give his opinion of what he thought the hire meant to the Washington Redskins.

This was a resounded endorsement for the new regime that was now settling in that would eventually be leading the Washington Redskins.  The interview was conducted by Jill Sorensten of Comcast Sports Net in Washington DC (via @ DC Sports Bog) and this particular line has resonated with me since I heard it:

“Bottom line is he is a winner,” Romanowski told Comcast SportsNet’s Jill Sorenson. “And I know he is very excited to be there, and I just know in my heart that get ready Washington, because a Super Bowl is coming your way.”

WHOA! Ok, I am “Homer” when it comes to the home team, but as a blogger I see thing objectively.  However, with Romanowski mentioning the the name of ‘the championship game that should not be mentioned in these parts’, it is a rare outsider that makes my eyebrow slightly raise.  By no means am I buying into what Romanowski said, but what interests me most is perhaps what Romanowski may be buying into.

From what I have been reading and hearing, this guy really wants in.  John Keim of the Washington Examiner reported this from a phone interview with Romanowski:

“This is nothing like I’m interviewing for a position,” he said Tuesday night by phone. “It’s not anything offical in any way as far as interviewing for a particular coaching job. It’s not about me getting into coaching or any of that. It’s about is there any way I could help.

Romanowski is currently the CEO of “Nutrition 53″ which is a nutrition suppliment comany, I shuddered as wrote that, and wants to bring whatever he can to help the Skins because he knows they may be on their way.

“Mark my words when I say the Super Bowl is coming back to Washington,” he said. “Trust me. And it won’t take long.”
