Cooley to Tiger Woods: There's room at the inn.

Christmas is nearly upon us, and in the true spirit of giving, Chris Cooley has offered Tiger Woods sanctuary in his home.  Of course, that means Todd Yoder will have to sleep in a bunk bed, but he’s apparently willing to make a sacrifice so Woods has a fun and safe place to be this Christmas.  Now that’s the true spirit of giving.  Cooley sharing his wife, I mean home, with Tiger.  Yoder sharing a bed, I mean bunk bed, with Tiger.  How much cozier can it get than that?

Check it out:  Cooley invites Tiger

I admit it, I’m a little confused.  I’d have thought # 47 would have invited Elin to come over for the holidays.  I guess it’s bros before ho ho hos.  On the other hand, Elin isn’t the ho in the relationship.  And what about Tiger’s stable?  What if  one of his prized possessions needs a home for the holidays?  Cooley may have to spring for double bunk beds.  Or, Yoder may need to find himself another place for the next month.

As I watched Cooley list all of the fun things he and Woods could do together, I realized he left one activity out.  Driving lessons.  He could give Tiger driving lessons.  I’m not talkin’ ’bout what you do on the ladies’ tee either.  Actually, Cooley did mention that he owns a golf cart.  So, maybe he was subtly offering to retrain Tiger on how to drive?  Could be.

Watch for yourself.  Before you do, I’d be remiss if I didn’t remind us all that Tiger Woods’ fall from grace is a serious situation with very serious implications to his wife and children.  I’m truly sorry for them.  And, I hope Eldrick Tont Woods, who turns 34 on December 30th, works through his issues and restores as much of a relationship with his family as is possible.  Before he can do that, he either needs to turn back the hands of time and rebuild his moral fiber, or retire from the game he has mastered.  I doubt the latter will happen; I pray the former happens.
