Chiefs-Redskins: End of 1st Quarter

If you don’t like watching the Redskins’ offense look futile, you didn’t like the first quarter.  The defense played it’s usual good game, and really got to Cassel.  The special teams weren’t great, but played okay.  The offense?  Portis fumbled to end the first drive when the Redskins started to establish some rhythm.  Then, it was 3 and out on the second drive.  Fortunately, Cassel has been sacked 3 times, and hurried several more times.

The Redskins’ third drive started on their 39 after the defense stopped the Chiefs on a 4th down.  They opened with a bomb to Devin Thomas, but Campbell led him out of bounds.  On 3rd and 11,    Fortunately, a 1-yard pass to Cooley turned into a first down.  Now the Skins once again seem to be on the verge of establishing some rhythm.  It’s 2nd and 6 in KC territory for the Skins.
