Tampa Bay is up 10 to 0. The Buccaneers should be up 16 to 0, but their kicking game is almost as pathetic as the Redskins’ passing offense. As I said after the Lions’ game, Jim Zorn may need to fire himself as the offensive play caller. At least, he needs to do so when it’s 4th down. As for Jason Campbell – I’ve stuck by him for a long, long time. I figured he needed more time in Zorn’s offense, and that many teams’ offenses start off slow in September. But to salvage this season, Todd Collins needs to play – now.
There, I said it – Todd Collins needs to play. The Redskins have run the ball fairly well, and the pass blocking is getting a bit better. The one factor which is killing the Redskins? Three turnovers by the quarterback. I don’t blame Campbell for the fumble, but those picks are squarely on him. Furthermore, he hit the referee on one incompletion. It was an ugly throw.
Either the pressure is getting to Jason Campbell, he’s playing hurt, or both. I don’t know which. I just know it’s time for a change. I don’t like it, but Campbell needs to sit. The Redskins’ schedule is still kind enough if they can win and develop a sustainable rhythm in the passing game. Jason Campbell has the talent, but right now, that’s not enough.

Yea, I think Campbell is playing hurt. He's not himself when it's time for him to scramble, though he did run for a first down. Something's on his mind, because he's releasing the ball late.
