Redskins.com is touting six Skins’ players as possibilities for the upcoming Pro Bowl. They include London Fletcher, Andre Carter, DeAngelo Hall, Albert Haynesworth, Santana Moss, and Clinton Portis. Let’s be straightforward about something – right now it’s unlikely that anybody from the Redskins’ offense is going to Hawaii, unless he wears a defensive player’s jersey or buys a ticket. That could change, but it’s doubtful.
About those defensive players. All London Fletcher’s done is lead the league in tackles with 71. 40 were unassisted; 31 were assisted. He also has a quarterback sack. Yea, he deserves to go. Let’s see that [...]

Four Skins to the Pro Bowl?
You may have seen my post from a couple days ago about a Redskins’ fan at FedEx Field having his ‘Bingo Football Night’ sign confiscated. Apparently, he would have had the sign taken even if it had said “I Love Vinny & Danny” or “Dan Snyder for President”. I say ‘apparently’ because the Redskins have a policy that precludes signs and banners. I don’t know if the league bans signs and banners, but the Redskins do. I also don’t know when that policy was implemented. riggosrag will contact the Redskins to obtain answers to these questions. We’ll update you.
One of [...]
What’s Next for the Redskins?
With the bye week coming up, the Redskins’ players will get a few days of much needed R & R. It stands to reason that their psyches need as much of a break as their bodies do. I figure they’re professional enough and have enough personal pride to focus on winning the game against the Falcons, regardless of all that has gone on around them. They’ll be without Chris Cooley, which means Fred Davis had better learn how to block. Otherwise, he’ll be as valuable as a 1960s era Jaguar that spent as much time in the shop as it [...]
Redskins to Fans: No Free Speech
ESPN reported last night that a Redskins’ fan who attended last night’s Eagles’ game had his sign confiscated. The sign stated it was ‘Bingo Football Night’. I don’t like making fun of Sherman Lewis’ community service, as Stuart Scott did on the air. I think it’s classless. But, you have to wonder if this is what we’ve been reduced to. Now, paying fans can’t criticize the organization, even when they don’t use vulgarity? That can’t possibly be true, can it?
I’d love to see fans rally around the Skins and avoid dumping on them. Then again, I’d love to see the [...]
Chris Cooley has a broken foot and will be out for a significant amount of time.
I’m going to focus on some of the positive things we can take from this game.
Eagles-Redskins: Fat Lady Sings
The Sherman Lewis play-calling era began with a splat. That’s too bad, because I’m sure he’s a fine gentleman and a very bright football mind. The look on Clinton Portis’ face said it all. This was a night of futility for the burgundy and gold (or is that maroon and yellow?). I wonder what Vinny Cerrato will announce on his radio show this week. Maybe he’s going to bring in a consultant to teach holding onto the ball. Maybe he’s going to suit up and play quarterback.
Speaking of play calling, the call to go for it on 4th and [...]
The second quarter started off with a thud. Will Witherspoon came in unblocked and chased Campbell, stripping him of the ball from behind. The Eagles had to settle for a 47-yard field goal. (By the end of this game, Witherspoon could earn a spot on the NFC Pro Bowl roster. Boy, that play-caller change sure has made a difference for the Redskins so far.)
Wowsers – the refs called a personal foul (block beneath the waist) penalty on Quinton Ganther on a sweet Rock Cartwright kickoff return. The only problem is thst Ganther is inactive. The penalty was on the Eagles’ [...]
Wanna know how to lose a home crowd? Sell a ton of tickets to a third-party broker so there are plenty of Eagles’ fans in your stadium, give up a 67-yard touchdown on a reverse on the opening drive of the game, and have your quarterback fumble the snap to kill a drive. (At least he recovered it.) You could always follow that up by allowing the Eagles to gain yardage in chunks on their second drive.
What to do? Flattening Brian Westbrook is a nice start. I can say that because Westbrook wasn’t hurt. He got his bell rung on [...]
Tonight, round about 11:00pm eastern, someone is going to be very disappointed. If the Redskins win, it won’t just be the Eagles and their bipolar fans. Media types who have openly ridiculed Sherman Lewis for having spent the last few years serving his community (bingo at a retirement home, meals-on-wheels) will hopefully wonder if their backhanded swipes at Daniel Snyder and Vinny Cerrato were appropriate. They should be wondering that now, but only an upset will keep them from ridiculing Lewis further. After all, if they want to ridicule Snyder and Cerrato, why do so in a way that effectively [...]
