One minute to go in the first quarter, and it’s ugly in one respect. The Skins have the ball, and as usual, they’re moving the chains. But you have to ask, what part of “don’t run the same plays inside the 10″ doesn’t Zorn understand. Whatever his first instinct is when the Skins are down close, he needs to just say no to himself. And what is his fascination with going for it on 4th down EVERY TIME? Take the 3 points. You can mix it up later.
If the red zone woes aren’t enough, especially with all those weapons, why did Zorn give the Lions new life when they would have had to try a 49 yard field goal? Instead, he took a ten yard penalty which ultimately resulted in a Lions’ touchdown. Now, he couldn’t have predicted that the defense wouldn’t have held, but they had been on the field 75% of the time at that point. So, things didn’t turn out the Skins’ way; the Lions scored first. I noticed they passed into the end zone.
In the time it took to type this, the Redskins had to punt. The Lions have the ball on their 8 yard line early in the 2nd quarter.
The offense had better wake up. Campbell was pressured in the previous drive, and he practically threw an interception. He didn’t look too good.

I want to argue with you gchottiner. I agree the Skins are the most disappointing team, given their talent. But, any argument around other facts would be academic in nature. Week 4 is coming up - let's see how they do against the Bucs.
