The Redskins are doing it again. An uncharacteristic fumble by Santana Moss, an uncharacteristic drop by Mike Sellers, and a few untimely penalties. That’s all it takes to keep an inferior team in a game, even when you play at home. Rams still 7; Redskins still 6.
The fans booed as the Skins’ players walked off the field. Given how the Skins played during most of the first half, that’s unwarranted. Given the fact they’re down to the Rams due largely to their own ineptitude at key junctures in the game, it’s warranted. Warranted or not, it’s too early to boo, for sure. Nobody is more disappointed in their mistakes than the Redskins’ players – trust me. Booing this early smacks of being fair weather fans – they should knock it off.
I look for the Redskins to stay with their game plan. They may run a little more than they did in the first half, but overall, I see no reason to change their scheme. I don’t imagine Zorn does either.
The Rams will receive the second half kickoff.
