NFC East – Odd Man Out

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: No Comments |

The Cowboys and Eagles are going to win their games today – they have for all intents and purposes with a couple minutes to go.  The Eagles’ defense and special teams looked good, while Jake Delhomme looked pathetic.  The Cowboys’ offense didn’t look great during the first half, but two touchdown passes over 60 yards broke the game open.  Tampa Bay looked better than many people, including me, expected.  Byron Leftwich looked good.

So, guess what?  By 7:30 eastern time tonight, someone is going to sit alone at the bottom of the NFC East.  All of the Fox Sports analysts effectively predicted that will be the Redskins.   Warren Sapp, an NFL Network analyst, predicted the Redskins will win.  At this point, the bottom line is that the loser of the Redskins – Giants’ game will look up at the rest of the division.  How much that means to the rest of the season remains to be seen, but for one week, the electronic and print media analysts are likely to be brutal if it’s the Skins.

Since the Giants, their fans, and most sports analysts seem so sure of themselves, it would be fun to see them squirm, gripe, and make excuses if the G-men lose this evening.  It would be just as much fun to watch Tom Coughlin’s press conference, though Bill Parcels was my personal favorite in that department.

We’re close to kick-off.  Go Skins!
