Sometimes you hate being right. Today, I hate being half-right. I knew the Giants’ receivers / Redskins’ defensive backs match-up would be a major key to the game. I didn’t know Giants’ receivers would occasionally be wide open, and I didn’t know the Redskins would absolutely whiff when trying to tackle Mario Manningham along the sidelines – twice.
It’s 10 to 0, but at least the Redskins’ defense held the Giants to 3 points when they were deep in the red zone the first two times. They’re getting close to Manning, but not close enough. So far, the Skins’ DBs look lost when the Giants pass. So far, the Redskins have only run 7 offensive plays. Yuk.
The Skins have the ball. It’s time for them to move down the field and score. it’s critical already. Portis looks good; Cooley just caught a 16-yard pass. The offensive line looks good. Campbell looks good.
