Highlights From Skins Training Camp Day #3

Day #3 of Redskins training camp featured plenty of heat and hits.  Today was the first full day of pads and the overall feeling was it was a solid practice.

Special teams practice had some notes of interest.  Not surprisingly the competition for punt returner is open with Antwaan Randle El, Santana Moss and DeAngelo Hall competing for the job.

As expected it looks like the defense is ahead of the offense at this point.  This more than likely will be the case as the defense will be expected to carry the team at times.

Phillip Daniels was getting a lot of praise today from Coach Zorn.  This is great news as Daniels will play an important role on this year’s defense.

Carlos Rogers suffered a minor calf injury and was sidelined.  Early report is it’s nothing serious just kept out for precautionary reasons.

Orakpo got his first taste of Clinton Portis in what Orakpo called a “huge relief” to finally get some hits in.  Orakpo is already showing signs of promise and is getting praise from Chris Samuels.

Speaking of Portis it looks like he is in midseason form showing off his pimp stick on the right.

Watch out Rookies, Jason Campbell is coming after you.
