I know we’ve been quiet here at Riggo’s Rag. It’s hard to watch a post-season from the sidelines after such a glorious start to the season. But time heals all wounds and we need to move on. The Superbowl is our last day to enjoy football — REAL football — until September. The next NFL event of significance is not until April. The long, cold, football-less season is coming.
So we must enjoy what little time we have left. Sadly, there is one small shining beacon of hope in the Arizona Cardinals. These former NFC East rejects have finally made it to the big game. Unfortunately I don’t think they’re going to be able to prevent insufferable Steelers fans from getting more bragging rights. I wish it were otherwise, but I think the Steelers will be too much for them.
We have only ourselves to blame. Each team in the NFC East, for most of the season touted as the best and most competitive division in all of football, had their shot at the Steelers. Only the damn Eagles pulled out a win against them. Now that the dust has settled, the NFC East is gone and the Steelers are still standing. Props to them. The bastards.
