He wasn't injured and there were some reports that the Gibbs regime let him get away with a lot of stuff.  It's possible that a little discipline and conditioning went a long way.  Also, Portis had to actually work this offseason. While on playcalling, I also wonder whether Zorn's been waiting to pull out the big guns on Monday night. I mean, maybe I'm just overthinking things (Zorn quoted on RI about red zone problems "I'm not alarmed, but I know where we have to push.") & it's not like we couldn't have used all that stuff for the past 3 games, but we did play relatively conservative, & I wonder if Zorn just wants to appear a little more predidctable going into a tougher match against the Steelers and then...kablamo!
