Oh what a drive by the Redskins! Some serious power running from Clinton Portis, a fabulous effort by rookie Devin Thomas who refused to go down before finding the sticks, and then a great play call by Zorn.
In case you missed it, the Skins called an end around to Antwaan Randle El who was clearly ready to pass form the beginning, but his original target was covered. He wisely pulled the ball down and began to run, but at the last second Cooley flashed open and with the quick release you only can find from a former option QB, El threw a dart to Cooley who pushed his way in. Great call.
And there is the TD. Not only is is crucial for the Skins, but it is the first TD the Eagles have given up at home. Right now, the Eagles looked demoralized and the crowd is turning into the typical rowdy Eagles crowd. If we can get a quick stop and another drive, we may be able to make the crowd turn into a liability to the Eagles.
Plenty of ball game left, and having the lead means nothing (except it sure beats 14-0), but you have to be proud of this team no matter what happens.
