There is another young Offensive Linemen that nobody is talking about that I am sure is going to make this team, Andrew Crumey, from the University of Maryland. The Chargers originally signed him as an undrafted free agent. He was released because he was not ready to practice for the OTA's. Like a vulture, Vinny snatched him up. Crummey was someone that we had our eye on all along and fortunately he wound up falling into our laps. Are starting 5 are all getting a bit long in the tooth, but we have 3 solid young guys that we must find a way to hang on to. I believe that each of these 3 (Heyer, Clark and Crummey) can be quality starters for us in the near future.
If we can hang on to these guys, I think our future along the line looks very nice.

Thanks for the comment, Darren. To be honest, Clark hasn't really hit my radar during games. I know he is a power lifter as well as a football player and that he has practiced well. Maybe I'm missing him, but I simply don't recall any special plays, though truthfully, that's not always a bad thing on the o-line.

Clark strikes me as the kind of person we can sneak onto the practice squad or even keep in the rolodex (do people still use those?) in case we have injuries. I've seen some pundits saying that Todd Wade might be released and if so, Clark is definitely in the mix. Wade is more expensive, older, more likely to get hurt, etc.

I'll make a point of watching him in the last three games and report back.

What about the FA rookie Devin Clark? He looks to be strong on the O-Line. I was thinking that mayber Hoyer or Wade may be in trouble if Clark continues to improve.
