Cardinals Trying to Limit Cowboys Fans

Ever have a guest show up, behave rudely, stick around much longer than they should, track mud on your carpet and leave?  The Cards have, and they call them Dallas Cowboys fans. The Cards have announced a “protect the nest” program designed to keep those nasty Cowboys fans out of the stadium, and frankly I don’t blame them. Who would want to sit near a Cowboys fan?

At the same time, before Dan or some of our other “loyal” Cowboys fans try to spin this as showing how cool they are, this is really just an effort to make money.  They admit in the article that ticket sales are slow.  What they don’t want to admit is ticket sales can be improved when you force people to buy tickets to preseason games to have the right to buy regular season games which is what the plan entails.

Given the long poor treatment of Cardinals fans, it doesn’t surprise me that this is happening. Maybe if they treated their fans better they’d sell out every game like we have for like 25 years.  But hey, I can’t make fun of them too much.  Anyone who says they can’t deal with Cowboys fans is a friend of mine. :)

You may want to try linking to the subject matter of which you speak if you are going to trash us. Have at least that much courtesy.

    DW,
We have been sold out for 43 years (including this season). You shorted by 18 years. The Cowgirls and all their girly fans will ALWAYS be chasing our attendence record.

By the way, I am currently in Dalby Springs, Tx. I took a little trip to Mexico. I am heading to D.C. to visit with friends and family and to visit training camp. On my drive today I decided to roll through Waxahachie, Tx. I will give a little geography lesson to those who might not be familiar with Waxahachie…it is about 15 miles south of Dallas on I-35E.
The local High School team is called the Indians. About 7 years ago I came through Waxahachie for the first time, and I nearly locked up my brakes stopping my rig to take a picture of what I saw painted on the water tower in Waxahachie. The local High School’s logo is an exact copy of our logo except for the circle around the Indian head is green, and the feathers are tipped in green instead of gold. Right in the heart cowpoke country (hey Homo…..ummmm, I mean Romo leave that cow alone and put your damn pants back on)

I’ll get this picture posted soon.

Too bad you guys have not figured out who the real enemies are – The EAGLES!
We should be smoking the peace pipe ;-)

The Eagles aren’t worthy of being our arch-nemesis. Consider it a sign of respect.

We still hate them, for what it’s worth. :)

  • Staubach

You are right. The Skins-Cowboys rivalry is a good old classic football hate. Cool, entertaining.  But the Eagles fans make you feel so dirty trash talking with them. Like you need a shower afterwards.  Not fun

You guys have a right to brag I guess about sell outs. This new stadium in Arlington may not even sale out with the ticket prices being where they are currently.

redskin777us, Waxahatchie was a late ’80′s, early ’90′s 4A powerhouse here in Texas. You may remember. I take pride in being a part of what derailed that in Stephenville. Best football moment of my life. Hands down. The team logo is a copy cat. I remember it like yesterday, but I just wander who’s was first. Is it really a copy cat? Thier mascot is the Indians, and when all this name change stuff was taking place, simply- “Indians” came to mind. BUT, I don’t see what is so offensive about naming the team the Redskins anyway. I am hispanic, and if someone’s mascot was the WetBacks, I personally would just laugh. That’s me though. Some people are overly sensitive to their heritage I geuss.

  • steamroller78

The BrownSkins wouldn’t be a very good mascot. What would it look like? And anyway, the entire team would have switchblades. It would only work in prison :)  Some things are just not for the NFL.

hey, my uncle live in n.arizona, he’s a ticket holder to the cards. his business, is northern arizona exterminators, he’s the “bugman ” of n.arizona, maybe some of you have heard of him. anyway, he says that there’s more cowboy fans in arizona than cardnial fans period. why the cardinals did’nt leave that name in st.louis is beyound me. he said their ain’t any cardnials in the desert, cause they would’nt survive the heat. hum, maybe thats why the cardinals can’t sell out. he said if it were’nt for all the cowboy fans out there, they’d never have a sell out. and by the way, you guys may have the home stadium sellouts, but evrywhere the cowboys go it’s a sellout. maybe you should check into that and see what kind of a record we hold on the road. did you know that that’s where the “real” americas team name comes from?????

  • http://landryhat davedallasfan

hey, steamroller, sounds like you were a hell of a good offensive lineman?????? #78?????? i was #22, 5’9″ 180-85lbs def. halfback. i used to get my ass handed to me when the guards and tackles would pull out on a runninng play, and get out in the open field.  but i got smart later on and i played low to get under the lineman and wait for the back, then explode into his waistline and bring the sonofabitch down. they called me the “hammer” because i knocked 2 first team all state tailbacks out of games in one season. we never one a state title in iowa, but we ruined a couple of other teams chances. love the game.

  • steamroller78

Close Dave, but Stephenville is a small town here in Texas and a lot of us played multiple roles in the game. I played some O-Line, but more defensive tackle than anything. Definately love the game. I love the trickery and wittiness of calling a game as well, and implementing new stuff and surprise as well.  Speaking of which, have you seen the A-11 offense? This could turn high school ball upside down. I can see it spreading like wildfire at that level, and who knows? Maybe even the NFL, but I doubt it.  Garrett’s got the tools now to put together some of this surprise and trickery as well. I hope he unleashes on Arizona. It would serve them right for even thinking they can keep us out. I expect MORE Cowboys fans there than less because of this. It almost makes me want to fly there to be there for that game. And who knows? Before it’s all said and done I might be there. I have been thinking about it now eventhough it never really crossed my mind before. BIG MISTAKE BY ARIZONA if they wanted less Cowboys fans.

  • steamroller78

If they wanted a sell out for those two games though, they played it smart. With a newer stadium, it should be selling out anyway. Maybe they just wanted some insurance? Who knows?

  • steamroller78

Here’s the site Dave for this new offense from California. There are even some clips there. The A11 Offense. I expect to see a lot of this in highschool ball. I don’t know if the NFL would approve it, but it would be wild if they did.
