No One Wants to Hear This

This isn’t the kind of thing you expect to read on a Redskins blog.  I’m starting to think Terrell Owens is actually…a good guy.  I know, I know.  But between his rising to the defense of Tony Romo, the fact that he has been a complete team player in Dallas, and this new tidbit about his “coaching” Andy Roddick I’m starting to think TO might actually be a normal, nice, mature guy.

Why do I bring this up?  Well, mostly because I want to see Guy’s head explode. But also as tangential support for my “go get Pac Man and Chad Johnson” agenda.  Now, I know Pac Man and Chad Johnson are different people than TO.  I know everyone is different and that there are plenty of examples of guys who just sucked the life out of multiple teams and never grew up.  But compared to TO’s sit ups in the driveway and what has Chad Johnson really done but say he wanted to be on a team that looked like it gave a darn about winning?

Pac Man is a slightly different situation, I realize, but he is also a lot younger.

Anyway, it looks like Pac Man can be had for a low rounder this year and next year.  I still think in the end that Chad is going to go for less than a first rounder because of the market for players forcing themselves off of rosters.

I don’t know about you, but three years ago, I’d have said I’d never see TO behave like an adult.  I never thought a good situation was all he needed.  I absolutely know that Washington is a great place for a troubled soul to end up.  We’ve got a winning tradition, a stable franchise, and a coaching staff that doesn’t put up with crap.  We can do this, people.  And it saddens me that we’re not even talking about it. If TO can grow up, Chad Johnson and Pac Man Jones can, too.

Dan, are you listening?  I know I get a regular hit from Ashburn, VA. Is there some intern at Redskins Park that is supposed to read little blogs like this one just to see what we’re saying about you?  Is there just a guy living near the offices who can just go pass a little note to Dan? Whoever you are,  pass this along.  Please!

T.O. a good guy??  You lost me there :)  PacMan intrigues me b/c he’s young and just a nimrod, not a guy who can ruin your team with an ego.  I wouldn’t mind Johnson either, although I do worry about his potential interactions with Jason Campbell.  I don’t think we need a WR blowing up at our young QB every time he misses a throw.

As funny as his crying episode was, I did find it remarkable that he would stick up for his quarterback and his team when he could have easily pointed fingers at people after that playoff loss.  That doesn’t make him a good guy, but maybe he’s learning. Or maybe Tony Romo had something that McNabb didn’t. Like…leadership.

Let’s all remember that Dave is also the same person who had a huge man-crush on Deion Sanders.  So he’s got a longstanding precedent of liking players who are selfish and vain.

  • dwagner

No, I have a longstanding history of liking good players.  Yes, by the time he came to DC, he was done, but he was still one of the best two or three cover corners in the history of the game.  What a surprise that I enjoy watching good players! :)

And yet you can’t stand Brett Favre…

  • dwagner

Yes, because Favre is like wall paper paste.  He’s dull.  And I get tired of the media acting like he’s god.  At least with Deion he didn’t pretend he wasn’t a media whore.

Anyway, don’t you want to post yourself rather than busting my chops? I want a turn to at poking at you for a change? :)
