Sean Taylor Trial Delayed
I hesitated to even post this because I am not one of those “eye for an eye” types, but it seemed impossible to host a Redskins website and not post it. The trial of the four kids who allegedly killed Sean Taylor has been delayed until August.
Personally, I don’t really care what happens to these guys. It won’t bring Sean back, and from the looks of it, these were guys in way over their heads and they didn’t really have any intention of killing anyone. I’m not saying they should walk the streets totally free, but I just can’t summon the anger that I know many people feel. I know whether these guys get 5 years, 20 years, or life they’re lives have been totally ruined as well. I’m not syaing it shouldn’t be that way. I’m just saying, I can’t find myself cheering on the firing squad.
But I am frustrated that this has been delayed into training camp. I know the judge is just trying to set a fair schedule for this stuff and he could care less about how it effects the Skins. And he’s right to do that. But geeze, all we’re going to be doing during training camp is fielding more questions about Sean when this training camp should be about turning the page on Sean, Coach Gibbs, and the whole fantasy football approach to real football that we had been taking. I was getting really excited about the new era, and I hope this doesn’t derail it.
Couldn’t it have been July? That wouldn’t have been enough? Or September? At least then we’d have had real games to distract us. Oh well, here’s hoping for another couple of months of delays or a plea bargain or something.

I do wish it could have been July, but maybe it will help inspire our people. I don’t know. It doesn’t HAVE to be a distraction. I can no longer muster the rage I felt towards them that I did late last year, but I do care about their sentence. It’s not going to bring Sean back, but I would be very upset if they got off or got a very light sentence. A man’s life was ended and his daughter will grow up without her daddy. Someone needs to answer for that.
