Pacman Fever
Great column from Pat Yasinskas of ESPN on who might want to trade for Pac Man Jones. I only have one thing to add. Why aren’t we thinking about this? Isn’t this exactly the kind of thing a successful organization looks into? I know. You guys think I’m crazy. I want Chad Johnson and Pac Man Jones and earlier I wanted the Skins to go after Tank Johnson right out of prison.
But come on. How does an oranization succeed whether it is business or sports? They buy low and they sell high. They exploit talent and resources where others are afraid or unable to. Pac Man is a perfect example of this. Don’t believe me?
Ask Bill Belichick. He wants him.
Need I really say more? Think about the “clubhouse cancers” that the Pats have signed. People thought Corey Dillon was poison when the Pats signed him. He won them a Super Bowl. Everyone said Randy Moss was done. If Bill thinks Pac Man learned his lesson, that’s good enough for me.
Think of it this way. It costs us maybe a 3rd or 4th rounder to find out if Pac Man can stay out of the strip clubs. What kind of CB or kick returner could we get there? Would there be any more of a crap shoot?
Imagine the Redskins fresh off a wild card campaign with Chad Johnson (from our second rounder), Pac Man Jones (from our third rounder), and a new first round DE. You don’t think this team could make some noise? You don’t think that teams would be afraid to play us?
And let’s say Pac Man busts. How will he bust? He’ll get into trouble and get suspended and be off the team. No loss. No problem. It would be like he was never there. That really isn’t any different than the 3rd round prospect we’d have had on the team instead. This is win-win, and the fact that we aren’t in this game shows that Dan may have adjusted a little too conservatively while dialing in his strategy.
Come on, Dan. Make it happen.

I’m with you on this one. If nothing else, we need to drive up the price so the Cowboys can’t get him for a 5th rounder.
