Perfectly Arrogant

I jumped up and down like the Redskins had just won the Super Bowl.  And then…I switched it off before I was forced to watch the Giants enjoy it.  Two of my three least favorite teams in the Super Bowl, and yet I have to admit this might go down as one of the best Super Bowls in history.  Great game, well-played, good back story with the chance of the perfect season, etc.  Good stuff.

This is the thing I want to see most and I know I won’t.  I want someone to go up to Tom Brady after all the comments he made about being offended about Plaxico Burress saying they wouldn’t score 17 points and ask them why they sucked so bad and couldn’t even get as many points as Burress gave them credit for.

And by the way, can we put away this cult of Brady for all time?  I’m not saying the man isn’t a great QB.  He is very, very good.  But he is human just like every other QB, and not a clutch QB robot any more than Peyton or Eli are not clutch.  These perceptions are always created by a lazy media who doesn’t look into reality and the compexities of any situation.  Brady is great.  But Brady is no more perfect than Brett Favre or John Elway or insert your great clutch QB here.  There is no such thing as clutch.  There are a million statistical studies that prove it.  Let’s get over it.

And by the way, if you don’t believe me, all you had to do was look into Eli’s eyes today before that final drive.  He looked like a ten year old going to the dentist.  He was scared.  And yet, he lucked his way into a crazy play and then got a good play from Plax and sudenly he’s a Super Bowl champ.  This isn’t to say Eli isn’t clutch.  It is to say circumstances make us see things the way we want to, and if people want to call Eli clutch they will and if they don’t they’ll call him lucky.

Anyway, great game.  Great outcome as long as I don’t think too carefully about Jeremy Shockey having a Super Bowl ring.  There is justice in the world.

I LOVED it! I feel dirty for cheering for the Giants, but I [profanity edited by DW] LOVED IT!!! Belichick going for it on 4th down and failing when he could have had the field goal, and then...whoops! Lost by 3 points!!! Arrogant prick that he is.  That's what you get for trying to run up the score buddy!  And what about him leaving before the game was over?  Did he get that idea from Randy Moss?  We all gave him shit for leaving...what about when the coach does it?
