I was going to spend the morning lamenting yet another loss where we were the better team, but it seems inappropriate considering the news that Sean Taylor has been shot and is in critical condition.
Taylor was the apparent victim of a home invasion. I say home invasion versus breaking and entering because it sounds more dramatic and journalistic. The truth is Sean did the dumb thing and tried to protect his stuff when the best move would have been to lock the bedroom door, call the police, and hope they get there before you have to defend yourself up there.
Anyway, it seems wrong to talk gun control and safety when Sean is bleeding out in the hosptial. I’ll try to keep you updated, but let’s face it, I’m not ESPN. I don’t have reporters I can dispatch to stand outside the hospital for word. But hey, if by chance my buddy Antwaan Randle El calls me to let me know, I’ll be the first to tell you.
The good news is that if you have a pulse when you get to the hospital, you have a pretty darn good chance of pulling through.
