The Whole NFC East is Ugly

No, I don’t mean the tough competition and huge rivalries. I mean plain old butt ugly. According to a survey by Travel & Leisure magazine and CNN Headline News and reported by Yahoo at this link the city of Philadelphia has the least attractive, least friendly, and least stylish people in the United States.

But before we go crowing over Eagles fans too loudly, it turns out that according to the article, “Philadelphia just beat out Washington, DC and Dallas/Fort Worth for the bottom spot [for attractiveness].”

As a person who does not live in Washington, DC, I do not take offense to this but I wonder just how many of my readers have trouble getting dates because they are so ugly and must read the Rag instead.

We all knew the people of Dallas and Philly were breaking mirrors just by looking into them, but I blame politicians for this slander on the citizens of the district. When tourist come to the city, they see nothing but old geezer politicians with their bedraggled staff members in tow. If they ever stepped into a club in Georgetown or Adams Morgan, they’d feel differently.

As it is, we’ll have to settle for the fact that we’re all down there together. And if that doesn’t do it for you, the article says, “the results don’t mean people in Philadelphia are ugly or the city is a bad place to visit. ‘We were asking people to vote on attractiveness, not unattractiveness.’”

Does that make you feel any less ugly? Didn’t think so.
