Portis Update

Posted by: daveskins

Turns out that the Redskins did not have their story straight about what was ailing Clinton Portis. The Washington Post (though notably not Redskins.com) reported that Portis has a minor knee sprain. This is good news because yesterday the Skins were saying it was tendonitis.

Bubba Tyer said he assumed Portis would play. This is good because as I mentioned yesterday, the Lions are vulnerable to speed.

Similarly, Santana Moss is coming around and doing work in a water tank. Things are looking up but it is still too early.

Fred Smoot is slated to play. This is just in time because the Lions have unbelievable depth at WR so we need to respond with good CB depth.

All in all, a good report. The news has been quiet except for the news of healing Skins. Maybe we can go a whole week without losing a lineman.
