Let the Super Bowl Run Begin!

Posted by: daveskins

Sorry for the extra long break.  We had some server difficulties that we were working around the clock to solve before football season.  My thanks to Zach and Adam Best who not only run the Fan-Sided Network that we’re a part of, but who also serve as our fabulous techincal crew, marketing folks, and the authors of their very own pages over at Pac Man Jonesin’ and Arrowhead Addict. They got me back up in time to say this…

The Redskins WILL win today.  There is no doubt.  And we will win by at least 10 pts.

In future weeks, I’ll spend more time breaking down games, but given that most of our readers are tailgating right now, I will keep this short.

The Dolphins have an aging defense that will be susceptiple to wearing down and also the deep throw.  Look for Gibbs and Saunders to give a steady diet of runs (particularly Betts, I think, as we work Portis in) early and set up some of bread and butter play action passes.  We will need to stretch the field, and I’ll call a Brandon Lloyd TD of at least 25 yards. I feel it coming at the beginning of the 3rd quarter.  Maybe the 12 minute mark.  (Beat that Kreskin!)

On offense, Trent Green is either a great QB or an addled victim of the league’s poor handling of concusions.  Even if Green still has something left in the tank, he lacks targets.  We will hopefully double Chris Chambers into submission while containing Ronnie Brown up front.  My only concern is that guys like Brown do tend to give us fits.  Tiki Barber and Brown are similar in the fact that they are both elusive, small, and quick and run the screen well.  We need to be disciplined when we tackle him and we’ll be fine.

My final score prediction- Redskins 20, Miami 10.

Hail Skins! And come back here for post game celebration, hand wringing over any injuries, and inflated predictions of our future success.
