Heh, I spent 72 hours on the Landry vigil and finally decided to take a bit of a break from the site and all hell breaks loose.
As you have heard by now, Laron Landry is in camp. I have to say my biggest disappointment was that he signed Sunday night (late Monday morning) and didn’t make practice on Monday. But this story in the Washington Times made me feel better. Apparently, Landry was trying to make it and his plane was late. He was in Baton Rouge practicing with the LSU team.
Fair enough, though if I ever find that lamp I keep looking for and a genie gives me three wishes, you can bet when I’m negotiating my first contract with the Redskins, I’LL FLY INTO TOWN WHEN MY AGENT SAYS THINGS ARE GETTING CLOSE! Geeze, oh well.
The good news is this quote from safeties coach (from the official site) , Steve Jackson, “It’s rare that a guy can come in on the first day and take as many reps as he did and want more. He wanted more.”
Keep that attitude, Laron. I’m still guessing Williams won’t start you no matter how good you are in camp so just keep plugging away.
