Redskins Wrap Training Camp and So Do We

The Redskins wrapped up what seemed like a good weekend of work, and I’ll just supply a bunch of links from different places to give you guys a full picture.

Redskins.com reports that camp was brisk and serious. As opposed to what?  Those earlier Gibbs camps where he brought Adam Sandler in so the players could yuck it up during drills?  Thanks for that deep insider information, Redskins.com.  We know Coach runs a tough camp and we love him for it. 

Now here is some useful info from Redskins.com.  Clinton Portis is ahead of schedule with his rehab.  While he was always on schedule to make training camp, it is nice to see he will have some downtime between rehab and training camp.  Rehab is tough on the body.

I’m not quite sure what to make of this story in the Washington Post about Rocky McIntosh. Basically, everyone is admitting he didn’t try hard last year, but now he is.  Is this the maturation of a twenty-something kid, or just someone realizing he has to start some for his next contract to be big? And why is it ok that someone didn’t try?  Why are we ok with the kid “just flipping the switch this year?”

Gotta love this news also from the Post.  Apparently Will Whitticker (no, I’ve never heard of him either) is really turning heads filling in for Randy Thomas.  You know my feeling about these camp stories, but when Joe Bugel says, “I don’t like this kid; I love him” and he’s talking about a lineman, you have to take it seriously.

Hogs Haven had a hilarious take on this story about Jerry Jones and the Saudi royal family.

I tried to avoid this.  I saw it on Friday.  I really did try to spare people.  But in the end, I couldn’t do a weekend links summary without it.
