So I guess it is my turn to talk about how I feel about what I perceive to be impending doom regarding Roger Goodell’s crack down and the Redskins. The comments both on the site and just with talking with other Skins fans all are “naw, we aren’t worried.”
Why not? In his short career before Goodell took over, Taylor was arrested twice, fined for skipping part of the rookie symposium, dirty hits, spitting on players, and the worst offense of all…wearing the wrong socks. You can point to how quiet he’s been lately as a sign of maturity, and I hope that’s true. [...]

The Other Shoe
The NBA Draft?
I’m waiting one more day to reveal my thoughts on the Tank Johnson question. Comments just started coming in, and I’ll give people another few hours. This isn’t entirely Redskins related but I wanted to just give a quick thought on this Oden-Durant hubbub in the NBA draft.
In my life time I can only remember one other draft where two people were so widely considered to be once-in-a-generation type players. People are comparing Oden to Ewing and Durant to a mix of Kobe and MJ. And frankly, at this point I’d be willing to believe it. Almost. There are two [...]
Ticking Time Bomb?
With the news that the Bears released Tank Johnson, I thought it might be a good time to break out a new segment here at Riggo’s Rag. I do a lot of the talking here, and lately comments not related to cheerleaders have been pretty meager. So in the hopes of drumming up some comments, I thought I would pose a question and not give my answer until after I got a couple of comments. In this case I have two questions:
1) Is anyone else amused by the fact that the Bears thought Tank Johnson getting pulled over for DUI “compromised [...]
Welcoming Naptown’s Finest
Just the Fans Network and Riggo’s Rag welcomes our latest site, Naptown’s Finest. Jonathan LaRosa will be bringing you the latest on the Super Bowl champs. I’d wish Jonathan good luck except, frankly, I believe the Colts are evil and I will not be remotely happy when they win until the Irsay family sells the team.
No, I’m not still bitter about the Colts leaving town when I was 12. Not at all. It made me a proud Redskins fan to this very day. Nope, not bitter at all.
Those of you who have no shame cheering for a team which is [...]
Defending Dan Snyder
Sorry for the lack of posts lately, folks. I’m travelling, and I was having some technical difficulties posting. They all seem ironed out now.
The subject for today is now quite old and actually comes form the baseball headlines. I know some of you can’t stand baseball. Some of you are fans but like the Nats. Some of you, like me, were O’s and Redskins fans for a long time and didn’t switch to the Nats when they arrived. At any rate, I promise to tie this back in to the Skins. As many of you know, a few days ago Joe Giardi [...]

Hump Day Blahs
Let’s face it. Wednesdays suck. Especially in summer. Especially when you aren’t sneaking out early for your tee time. So here’s a little link to brighten your day. There you’ll see more pictures like the one below. I’m thinking of making Wednesdays cheerleader days, at least in the offseason. Comment to tell me what you think of the idea.
One Final Thing About Arrington
Everyone has covered the Lavar Arrington motorcycle crash. I wasn’t even going to mention it, but the coverage of it has bothered me. There were two ways it was covered. The “get well soon” angle like here at Hog’s Haven.
Then there was the way everyone else who covered it. Sportscenter showed a shot of Lavar’s mangled motorcycle and then followed it up with a chart showing recent motorcycle wrecks in the NFL including Kellen Winslow Jr’s and Big Ben. They even showed tape of Ben being released from the hospital. Unfortunately, I don’t have a You Tube clip of it to [...]
The Redskins wrapped up what seemed like a good weekend of work, and I’ll just supply a bunch of links from different places to give you guys a full picture.
Redskins.com reports that camp was brisk and serious. As opposed to what? Those earlier Gibbs camps where he brought Adam Sandler in so the players could yuck it up during drills? Thanks for that deep insider information, Redskins.com. We know Coach runs a tough camp and we love him for it.
Now here is some useful info from Redskins.com. Clinton Portis is ahead of schedule with his rehab. While he was always [...]
Geeze, didn’t I just call it? Redskins.com is reporting that QB Jason Campbell is having a great camp. See my post yesterday about how easy it is to throw during mini-camp.
If you think I’m being harsh or cynical check this out:
The Jets report that Chad Pennington was sharp in camp.
The Oakland Raiders are impressed with Jamarcus Russell.
The Bengals are happy that Carson Palmer looks healthy.
There are more, but I won’t bore you with link after link about how good the QBs look.
The only interesting links about QBs came from Cleveland and Minnesota where Tavarius Jackson looked shaky when [...]
